The dissolution of the Punjab PA will follow in accordance with the law: PML-N Tarar claims that Nawaz has not voiced any frustration with the party leadership about the matter.
Ata Tarar, a leader in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), emphasised that the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly will take place in accordance with the constitution. She also made it clear that the party had no intention of interfering in any way with the governor’s report.
Tarar expressed their expectation that this summary would be adopted as soon as possible after seeing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who had just returned from a two-day trip to the United Arab Emirates. This would allow for the next stage of completing the interim set-up to start.
Contrary to what had been reported in the media, he claimed, they had no desire to intercept the summary, adding that everything should be handled in accordance with the law of the state.
The date of the elections for the provincial assembly, he claimed, had not yet been decided. This issue is premature at this time because the decision regarding the temporary setup has not been made.
Prime Minister Shehbaz held significant meetings in Lahore with the governor and party leaders, primarily including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and special assistants Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and Tarar. Shehbaz had returned from the UAE to Lahore to take control of his directionless party.
Additionally, the party scheduled a Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting for the next week to discuss the political climate in Punjab.
According to a reliable source, the premier was also briefed on the vote of confidence incident that had embarrassed the party at all levels.
It was decided, after reviewing the political climate in the province, that the party wouldn’t attempt to erect any legal obstacles in order to intercept the summary because doing so would give the appearance that they were evading elections.
Additionally, they made the decision to draw attention to the purported corruption of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) at all venues.
The meeting also covered the topic of important party figures like Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Hamza Shehbaz coming back.
According to the source, the governor was permitted to act in accordance with the law to spare the party greater humiliation. He claimed that the party’s two options—plead economic default and conduct an electronic census—wouldn’t have been successful.
He claimed that the PML-N needed Nawaz to come back since the party’s voter base was still strong. The outcomes might be disastrous for the party in the National Assembly (NA) elections, he continued, if the PML-N supremo did not make a return before the provincial assembly elections.
According to the source, there is a good probability that Lahore residents Mayam, Hamza, and Suleman Shehbaz may run for provincial assembly seats.
If Nawaz’s return was brought up at the meeting, Tarar responded that it was crucial for him to get back home before the provincial assembly elections.
Hamza would return to the nation this month, he claimed, while Maryam would do so in the next 10 days. He further stated that the party had long since begun its election preparations and that they were prepared for a confrontation.
The premier’s assistant responded that they would evaluate the names submitted by Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi when asked about the temporary setup. They might accept a name or not, he continued, but it would all depend on the names.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) may be consulted in this scenario if a decision cannot be made, but that would depend again on the strength of their ideas, the speaker continued.
Tarar fiercely refuted media allegations that Nawaz had voiced his displeasure with the party leadership about the situation in the Punjab Assembly, claiming that these reports were the product of someone’s wild imagination.
In a media interview, Sanaullah stated that they had come to congratulate the premier on his travels.
He claimed that the party wanted to show the public that they made every effort to prevent the PTI from dissolving the assemblies despite their inability to do so.
The dissolution of the legislature, he said, might have been constitutionally permissible, but it was not in the nation’s best interests.
He berated Imran for a political narrative he claimed was founded on falsehoods.
Asif stated that the assembly would be dissolved in accordance with the law. His party was completely prepared for elections, he continued.
