The PTI condemns what it calls “fabricated” cases brought against local politicians.
Protests were directed against the police of Orangi Town for arresting the town’s leaders in such instances.
In opposition to the detention of PTI’s newly elected Chairman Idris Samzai and Vice Chairman Dr. Kabir Union Council 7 Mominabad Town, Orangi Town West District in what the party believes is a concocted case, PTI members demonstrated in front of the Orangi Town police station.
Workers from the PTI shouted praise for the party’s leader Imran Khan during the demonstration.
Haleem Adil Sheikh, Dr. Saeed Afridi, and other PTI employees from Sindh joined the demonstration.
Following his release on bail, the PTI leader who had been detained joined the demonstration and chanted insults to the “Zardari Mafia” and the police.
Haleem Adil Shaikh stated in a media interview that PTI employees will protest each time they were subjected to harassment.
He charged that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was attempting to ‘buy the mayorship’ by purchasing PTI members.
He continued, “When their attempts failed, they turned to the police on our council members.”
Sheikh added that Imran Khan would soon take office with a majority of votes and that everyone would be held responsible in a dig at his party’s opponents.
He stated that the police needed to change their perspective since they ought to be concerned with safeguarding the lives and property of the populace rather than terrorising them.
Sheikh claimed that extortion was on the rise and that law and order conditions in Karachi were poor.
“In Karachi, 15 people have died in a month due to resistance during robberies, but the police are concentrating elsewhere.” At the time, MPA Dr. Saeed Afridi warned that the demonstration will take place once more on Friday if the SHO of Orangi Town was not dismissed from his position.
Political activists are being investigated by police for attacking the SHO at the Orangi Town police station.
