Nawaz orders the PM to release a relief package.
The PML-N leader said no one will guarantee the PTI, which has been in power for 3.5 years and has destroyed the country.
LAHORE:
Nawaz Sharif, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), and previous prime minister gave his brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, orders to lower prices on necessities on Sunday.
During a meeting of PML-N heavy hitters in Lahore, Nawaz, who was present via video link, defended his party’s coalition government’s talks with the PTI on the grounds of national interest despite the lack of guarantors for the people responsible for the country’s damage over the past 3.5 years.
His comments arrived while the PML-N-led coalition government was negotiating with the PTI opposition party to settle on an election date.
Nawaz stated that the PTI had spent its term in office pursuing personal interests and defaming the country and its institutions, hence nobody was willing to provide a guarantee for them.
Participants at the meeting talked about the political, economic, and legal climate in Punjab.
The leader of the PML-N has emphasized the urgency of addressing the problems facing the people, such as rising prices.
Before making any decisions about holding elections on the same day or anything else, Nawaz told his party members to consult with their allies.
Moreover, he said, policies to help the people should be developed before the elections.
He went on to say that “each political party should do its part for the country and the people.”
He insisted that his party, when in office, had done everything possible to set the country on the road to progress.
He continued, nevertheless, saying that in only 3.5 years, the “enemies of the country” had undone all the progress made by the country’s citizens.
The premier made an indirect allusion to the PTI by quoting his brother as saying that some individuals “just could not digest progress and prosperity.”
He continued by saying that Nawaz has warned the general public to avoid these types of persons.
It has been a year, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated, since his party and its partners began working tirelessly to address the problems facing Pakistan.
The premier also said that aid would be distributed to the people soon.
He went on to say that the package would help people cope with the growing cost of food and other necessities.
