It was claimed on Sunday that the most wanted terrorist, Zafar Khan alias Zafari, and his crew were slain by security personnel in Darra Adam Khel, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), in a well-planned intelligence-based operation (IBO).
Hasan Khan, son of Muhammad Imran, was recognized as one of the terrorists; Anas, alias Ali, was identified as a native of Nangarhar, Afghanistan.
Terrorists were tracked down by intelligence agencies and security forces using novel operational tactics grounded in verified intelligence.
Zafar, a native of Malan village in Darra Adam Khel, reportedly travelled to Peshawar from Afghanistan’s Nangarhar region on May 22, 2023.
He also participated in 26 grenade assaults in Pakistan while a member of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
In addition to more than Rs100 million in extortion and kidnapping for ransom, Zafar was involved in scores of terrorist acts against security officers, coal contractors, businesses, and powerful persons.
Hasan, the murdered terrorist, was a member of TTP Afghanistan from 2019 to 2021 and specialised in grenade attacks and snipers. He, too, has travelled back and forth to the war-torn nation.
During terror assaults in North and South Waziristan areas, terrorist Anas allegedly proved himself to be a skilled sniper.
