At the Pakistani-Afghan border town of Parachinar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir celebrated Eidul Azha on Thursday.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb accompanied the prime minister.

The prime minister and the army head prayed together at the Eid celebration, and then they greeted each other. The prime minister spoke highly of the professionalism, dedication, and readiness of the Pakistan Army.

During his discussion with the officers and soldiers, Shehbaz explained that he and the army chief were spending the holiday with the troops to show their appreciation for their hard work and dedication to protecting the homeland’s frontiers.

The spirit of sacrifice lies at the heart of Eid, says PM

The officers and troops of Pakistan’s armed forces, he added, sacrifice their own comfort to carry out the holy duty of ensuring the safety and security of the nation.

He continued by saying that the people of the country were grateful to those who stood guard at the country’s borders despite the harsh weather and other situations they had to endure.

He said that the nation was grateful for the officers and soldiers who put the safety of the country first on all occasions, including the joyous holiday of Eid and the tragic funerals of loved ones.

The prime minister stated that he was honoring the officers and troops of the Pakistani army, air force, and navy today because they were doing the holy responsibility of protecting Pakistan’s borders with unwavering resolve.

On the occasion of Eid, the prime minister sent his best wishes to all members of the nation’s armed services. He restated the firm belief that anybody who undermined security, committed terrorist attacks, or aided and abetted such actions would find no safe haven.

He went on to say that the forces that had been spreading anarchy and mayhem in Pakistan had been defeated because the Pakistaniat of the Pakistani nation had prevented them from succeeding.

According to him, the respect and dignity of the martyrs was more important than anything else since they were the pride and priceless treasure of Pakistan and its nation. The prime minister paid his respects by laying a wreath at the martyrs’ monument.

The prime minister was earlier welcomed by the army chief of staff. Commander 11 Corps and other provincial government officials attended this event.
