Over 7 million women have received funds from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in ISLAMABAD as part of the fourth quarterly tranche of Benazir Kafaalat for the Financial Year 2022-23.
Under Benazir Kafaalat, 9 million registered beneficiary families will receive a quarterly payment of Rs9,000.
To facilitate retail distribution to beneficiaries, the BISP has transferred approximately Rs81 billion to its partner institutions, Bank Alfalah and HBL.
A representative for the programme explained, “In addition to the Kafaalat plan, Benazir educational scholarships are also being provided to the children of registered families; however, 70 per cent attendance in the school is needed to get the scholarships.
A spokeswoman for the BISP responded to the text message scam by saying that official programme messages are only delivered from the number 8171, and that users should not trust texts from any other number.
