It is the “basic right” of the people of Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday in LAHORE, urging people to attend the party’s rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan tonight.

The former prime minister tweeted that his instincts tell him the demonstration will be a success and set new milestones.

Everyone in Lahore is cordially invited after the completion of Tarawih prayers. I’ll explain my plan for Haqeeqi Azadi and how we’ll rescue Pakistan from the corruption of the ruling elite.

The former premier was concerned that the administration “would place all sorts of hurdles to prevent people from going, but I want to remind our people that it is their fundamental right to join a political assembly.”

The citizens of a “free nation” that “earned its freedom” should “assert their right” by visiting Minar-e-Pakistan, he said.

Imran has been promoting a “giant power show” at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan since earlier this week.

From his Zaman Park home, Imran spoke to his followers via video link, promising a “mammoth rally” at Minar-e-Pakistan as a “referendum” to show where the country stands.

Therefore, the event organizers decided to move the rally to March 25. (today). The rally was delayed for a second time.

More than four months after the last election-related activities, Imran led his party’s rally in the Punjab capital on March 13.

He declared that the party’s next power display would be held on March 19 at Miner-e-Pakistan.

The PTI leadership had planned a protest at Minar-e-Pakistan, but the Lahore High Court (LHC) barred it, citing the city’s precarious security situation.

It was presided over by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, who said that the current situation in the provincial capital has “tarnished the image of Pakistan around the world.”

To ensure adequate protection for any rally procession, Justice Sheikh added that the relevant authorities must be informed at least 15 days in advance.
