Due of Elahi’s bad health, he is not allowed to visit his family.
The former chief minister of Punjab appears in court as the media is barred from the proceedings.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, former chief minister of Punjab and central president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Tuesday that his health has deteriorated in the ten days he has been confined to a small cell in the prison.
His pre-trial statement to the press was, “I am sick and for 10 days I have been locked in a tiny room,” which he delivered to the media in Lahore. He continued, “And I’m not allowed to see my family because the fan in the room is broken.”
Asked by a reporter whether he had any plans to resign from the PTI, Elahi replied, “I am not being allowed to meet anyone, how could I hold a press conference?”
He screamed, “I’m not even allowed to speak with media persons here.”
“Do you see what condition I am in over here,” the former CM asked.
The police, however, barred reporters from entering the courthouse and ushered them out. SHO Shabia Raza has stated that journalists will be barred from entering the courthouse at any time.
Elahi was apprehended earlier this month with the cooperation of the Punjab Police and the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
Elahi’s arrest was confirmed by caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir, who stated that Elahi was apprehended while “trying to flee” in his car.
A court magistrate in Lahore placed the former chief minister on 14 days of judicial remand in jail on June 4.
His health deteriorated while he was in jail, and a few days later he was sent there to be treated at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
Elahi had gone to the PIC to see the doctors about his chest problems. He was moved back to prison shortly afterward.
