NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Eight people were killed on Saturday after a car and a passenger coach collided near the Moro area of Sindh.

On Friday, a driver allegedly caused an accident in Mehrabpur, a city in the Naushahro Feroze district, before taking off in an unknown direction. The vehicles were then struck from behind by another vehicle traveling in the opposite way, utterly destroying it on impact.

The eight members of the same family who perished in the crash were all passengers in the automobile that hit them head-on, according to the police.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the bus accident has injured more than ten people.

They were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment, but their injuries were reportedly minor.

The victims were on their way to their home hamlet to celebrate Eid, according to police sources.

After the emigration, there was a lull at the transport terminals.

Women were also among the dead from the car collision, according to hospital sources. The deceased was a native of the Sindh region known as Kashmore.

The motorway police at the Kallar Kahar police station filed a complaint last month alleging “criminal” negligence in a fatal accident that occurred last month on the Salt Range section of the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway.

It was said in the complaint that passengers had informed the bus owner and the station manager of the vehicle’s problems, but their concerns had been ignored.

The bus, carrying at least 32 people, lost control around Point 224 on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway, smashed over a safety barrier, and then slammed into an oncoming vehicle.

A 10-kilometer route with a seven percent decline characterises the Salt Range patch. In some areas, the speed limit for trucks is as low as 30 km per hour. There is a “red zone of motorway” on the M2 (South) between points 231 and 222. Brake failure accounts for the vast majority of incidents on its steep inclines and swerving corners.

Initial investigations into the fatal crash pointed to braking failure and an inability to slow down the car at a particularly sharp corner.
