Police were prevented from taking action against Rashid. According to the lawyer representing him, the AML commander was chained to a chair, questioned about politics, and tortured while in police detention.

ISLAMABAD: The police cannot proceed with the cases brought against Sheikh Rashid in Sindh and Balochistan until February 16 due to an order from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The court also rendered it subject to a court order and ordered a restraining order on the filing of other cases across the nation about the claimed statement accusing Asif Ali Zardari of organising the assassination of Imran Khan.
Additionally, notices were sent to the attorney general, bar associations, and the Sindh and Balochistan advocate generals.
The petitions challenging Rashid’s summons to the police station and the registration of cases in other provinces were heard by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of the IHC.
Rashid’s attorney, Advocate Sardar Abdul Raziq, stated that because his client was being held by the police, a Karachi FIR had also been filed.
He added that Rashid was probed about politics and subjected to violence while being strapped to a chair for six hours in an unidentified location.
Justice Jahangiri questioned how the case was registered in Karachi since the statement was provided at the polyclinic hospital in Islamabad.
He questioned, “How can there be FIRs on the same incidence in various cities? ”
Think about what would have happened if the lady information secretary had been detained and brought away by the police, he said, adding that terrorism cases had been filed against the information secretary and PTV MD. “Now you’re being victimised by the same thing. Where will this series end? I don’t know.
The attorney claimed that the court had asked whether any arrests had been made in connection with the third case, which had been filed in Murree.
According to the attorney, only one case has resulted in an arrest.
The law states that when an arrest is made in one case, it is likewise done in the others, Justice Jahangiri said.
The court issued notifications to the plaintiffs in the lawsuits in Kemari and Lasbela while also suspending the proceedings in the cases filed in Sindh and Balochistan.
The hearing was then postponed until February 16.
