The egress system for the crew worked perfectly. The government body did not give a reason for the holdup.

Despite initial preparations, the launch did not take place at the scheduled 8 am (0230 GMT) time. ISRO reported that it was successful around 10 a.m.

The goal of the Gaganyaan mission is to create a space capsule livable by humans that can go to an altitude of 400 kilometers (250 miles), stay there for three days, and then return to Earth over the Indian Ocean.

After Gaganyaan is finished, ISRO plans to look into ways to have a permanent human presence in space.

Following the momentous landing of the agency’s Chandrayaan-3 probe on the lunar south pole, the government of India has budgeted over 90 billion Indian rupees ($1 billion) for the project.

Although no official date had been declared, the Gaganyaan mission was planned to go off from Sriharikota, India’s primary spaceport, before 2024.
