The shootout, in which three terrorists were killed and as many were injured, followed a spate of bomb and gun strikes on security personnel around the country, most notably an audacious assault on a training airbase in Mianwali.

According to a statement released by the military’s media arm, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched the IBO after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Tirah area.

According to the report, “during the operation, own troops led by Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Hassan Haider, effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” resulting in the deaths of three terrorists and the injuries of three others.

However, during the heavy exchange of fire, “four brave sons of soil having fought gallantly embraced Shahadat”, it added.

A 43-year-old man named Lt. Col. Muhammad Hassan Haider from Islamabad, a 31-year-old man named Naik Khushdil Khan from Lakki Marwat District, a 27-year-old man named Naik Rafique Khan from Charsadda District, and a 33-year-old man named Lance Naik Abdul Qadir from Murree District were all killed in the attack.

The ISPR has said that a “sanitization operation” is currently under way to remove any terrorists from the area. The security forces of Pakistan have stated, “Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism.”

Peshawar Garrison was the site of the funeral prayers for Lt. Col. Hassan, Khushdil, Rafique, and Abdul. The ISPR has announced that the Shuhada would be given a proper military burial in their hometowns.

The funeral was attended by the Peshawar corps commander, as well as a significant number of active-duty officers and jawans, government officials, and members of the public.

Terrorist attacks in the country have increased recently. Overnight, militants attacked Dera Ismail Khan’s security forces. The attack on the post within the Gul Imam police station boundaries in the Tank region of DI Khan was resisted, but it was nonetheless evidence that forces hostile to peace had resumed their efforts.

The military of Pakistan claimed on Saturday that they had “foiled and thwarted” a terrorist attack on the PAF Mianwali Training Air Base, killing at least nine terrorists.

Seventeen personnel had been killed the day before in separate terrorist strikes in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

In a statement released to the media, the militant organization Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP) claimed responsibility for the incident.

TJP is a relatively new group that has carried out a series of high-profile operations in Pakistan, including the July 1st murder of 12 Pakistani troops at a military installation in the southern province of Balochistan.

Terrorist strikes in Balochistan and K-P provinces the day before killed at least 20 people, including 17 members of the armed forces.
