General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), lauded the tenacity of women in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday, citing their resilience in the face of the many difficulties posed by the ongoing struggle against terrorism.

While in Peshawar, Gen. Munir met with influential women from the province at the “KPK Women Symposium – 2023,” according to a statement released by the military’s media arm, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The COAS praised the women of K-P for their strength, determination, and bravery in the face of adversity.
General Munir, speaking to the symposium attendees, emphasised the essential role women have played in Pakistan’s growth and the historical relevance of their efforts.
He urged females to take an active role in K-P’s progress, especially in the combined tribal regions.
The Caretaker Chief Minister of K-P, Muhammad Azam Khan, and the COAS attended a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee during the COAS’s visit. At the meeting, participants heard an update on regional security efforts to combat things like smuggling, hoarding, and drug trafficking.
Participants at the meeting recommitted themselves to protecting citizens and their property. In the name of safety and tranquilly, they paid a profound respect to the martyrs and their loved ones.
General Munir stressed the value of working together to improve the country’s security and economy, and he pledged that the Pakistan Army will play a continuing role in maintaining peace and order in K-P.
This momentous encounter officially kicked off when the army chief arrived in Peshawar and was greeted by Commander Peshawar Corps.
