Sehat Card mandates patient photos, and all panel hospitals are advised to set up webcams at the HFO Desks for identification management.
PESHAWAR: To ensure transparency, the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan has advised the health authorities to photograph patients being admitted to hospitals under the Sehat Sahulat Program.
A notice sent out here on Saturday stated that starting on April 25, it will be necessary to take patients’ pictures.
It is recommended to all health facilitators (HFs) to take a picture of the patient before admission in order to improve the gatekeeping system and transparency in terms of patients treated under the Sehat Sahulat Program.
It is recommended that all panel hospitals set up webcams at the HFO Desks for patient records and identification management.
At the health desk, all health facilitators would make sure to take pictures using the webcam integrated there instead of using a phone.
If a patient is experiencing an emergency or is unable to visit the HF’s counter before to admission, a photograph may be taken with their permission; but, entrance will never be permitted without capturing identify.
This month, there was controversy over the State Life’s decision to stop providing care under the Sehat Card due to the K-P government’s failure to pay dues, which prompted all hospitals to stop accepting new patients.
Along with causing the general population a great deal of difficulty, this also drew harsh criticism on social media.
