Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the video showing three prisoners abducted by Hamas on October 7 “cruel psychological propaganda” when it was released on Monday.

Netanyahu names the women in the video as Yelena Trupanob, Danielle Aloni, and Rimon Kirsht. They are seen seated side by side against a blank wall, with Aloni directing an angry message to Netanyahu.

She blamed Netanyahu for the deaths of Israeli citizens in the Hamas attack and demanded their release in exchange for Palestinian detainees, saying he had failed to protect them and bring them home.

You were the one who was supposed to set us free. To set us all free was a promise you made. However, “we instead bear your political, security, military, and diplomatic failure,” she remarked.

In a statement, Netanyahu restated his intention to exhaust all options in his pursuit of the release of the captives.

I love you despite being kidnapped by Hamas, which is guilty of war crimes. You and the fellow captives have our deepest sympathies. We are doing everything to return home all the prisoners and the missing,” he stated.

Ramos Aloni, Aloni’s father, claimed that upon seeing his daughter in the video, he felt both amazement and relief that she was alive.

“Until today we did not know any confirmed information about her,” he told reporters who gathered in Tel Aviv.

He claims that Aloni and five members of his family, including his twin 3-year-old grandkids, are being held captive.

The family of Rimon Kirscht, who was shown sitting quietly by Aloni in the video, has vowed to do whatever it takes to bring her home, and have also urged that the hostages be given immediate medical attention.

“I don’t wish on any mother to have to go through what we are going through for the past 24 days,” stated the woman. This video I saw today has me very concerned. Rimon didn’t have his glasses with him. She has been blind for 24 days. She has to have new eyewear.

Following the release of a video featuring French-Israeli woman Mia Schem, 21, on October 17, this is the second hostage message provided by Hamas.

At least 239 people, including Israelis and foreigners, were taken hostage by Hamas during the attack, according to Israeli police.

Israeli soldiers began a ground assault in the enclave last week, after an intense campaign of air strikes that has killed more than 8,000 Palestinians. The presence of the hostages has hampered the operation.

Four hostages have been released so far but efforts to arrange additional releases through back channel efforts orchestrated by Qatar appear to have been put on pause following the start of the ground operation.

Israeli soldiers in Gaza also claimed Monday that they had released a captured soldier.
