A newly created IPP is rejected by PTI.
The former government has stated that Tareen’s party is not the answer to the problems facing the country.

The newly created Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) was rejected by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday in LAHORE because it was founded by people “coming after forced divorces,” according to the PTI.
Former PTI aide Jahangir Tareen has formed a new political party called IPP with the intention of enacting economic and social changes.
Nearly a hundred former PTI lawmakers have joined the new party, a vote of trust in Tareen’s leadership.
Our party, Istehkam-e-Pakistan, is officially forming today. While speaking at the party’s first joint news conference in Islamabad, Tareen emphasized the unity of the group and promised to help lead Pakistan out of its current challenges.
The PTI responded to the news by saying that people’s issues wouldn’t be solved by the emergence of new political parties.
Forcing individuals to join new political parties is not the answer to Pakistan’s problems, the PTI said.
The previous ruling party has reiterated its demand for new, free and fair elections, stressing the need of giving the people of the country a voice in who represents them.
Several members of the PTI defected to the IPP, including the former governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail; the former minister of shipping, Ali Zaidi; the former minister of federal affairs, Amir Kayani; Firdous Ashiq Awan; Mahmood Molvi; Fayyazul Hassan Chohan; Murad Raas; and Jai Parkash.
Several PTI lawmakers defected after the government blamed Imran’s imprisonment in a fraud case on May 9 for the nationwide rioting that followed.
Protesters smashed windows at the GHQ and the mansion of the Lahore corps commander in addition to attacking government buildings and military installations.
Powerful politicians in Karachi, the rest of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan all report to Tareen.
After helping Imran and the PTI gain government in Punjab in 2018, Tareen became estranged from the party’s leader after Imran granted the FIA access to him in early 2021 in connection with a sugar fraud investigation.
Later, the PTI-led Punjab government was overthrown with the help of Tareen’s gang of 25 MPAs, which included Aleem Khan. These legislators supported Hamza Shehbaz of the PML-N in the race for chief minister last April.
Tareen, who was the PTI secretary general at the time, was disqualified from office by the Supreme Court in December 2017 on the grounds that he had proven dishonest under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution and Section 99 of the Representation of the People Act.
His appeal for review was denied by the Supreme Court bench on September 27, 2018.
