Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, referred to the current administration as a “mafia,” and claimed that the Pakistan Democratic Movement, which is in power, is wary of elections because the results of each by-election reveal their position in society.

“The country’s political and economic condition demands an immediate general election, but the entire PDM is frightened of elections,” Elahi stated in a meeting with a team from the US House of Representatives that visited him in this country.

The 12-member group was led by US Democrat leader Dr. Asif Mehmood and comprised Chris R. Holden, chair of the Appropriations Committee of the California Legislative Assembly, his wife Melanie Caldwell Holden, Dloise Gomes, Mike A. Gipson, Wendy Carrillo, Christopher Reyes, Anna Goddard, Willie Armstrong, Michael Meeks, Adriel Yang, and other individuals.

Elahi informed the team that the corrupt rulers’ group merely wanted an election to be prevented in some way. The judiciary is currently under attack from the ruling class, who plan to violate the Constitution.

“[PML-N Senior Vice President] Maryam Nawaz is at the forefront of attacks on the judiciary,” the former CM claimed. “She uses disagreeable and improper language daily in an effort to have herself announce the court rulings against the opponents.”

Imran Khan is the nation’s hero, he declared, according to the PTI chairman. Imran Khan is too strong for the mafia in the government to handle. In accordance with the Constitution, he hoped that the Supreme Court will order that the elections in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa be held in 90 days.

The group praised Elahi for designating Punjab and California as sister states and paid tribute to him during the meeting, during which views on Pak-US relations and the national political climate were expressed.

The group informed Elahi that numerous US businesses were eager to invest in Punjab in the fields of agriculture, information technology, health care, and education.

He was grateful for the significant contribution that Pakistanis living abroad have made to the best Pak-US ties.

Mehmood claimed that because “Pakistan and the USA had been cooperating for decades,” he wanted to do more to promote stability in Pak-US relations.
