On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif opened the Rs1.8 billion first phase of FATA University in Peshawar.

Students from the newly combined tribal regions will have access to cutting-edge academic programs at this, the region’s first university.

The premier also gave away laptops to deserving high school students from all over the province.

Later, when addressing the occasion, he announced that one hundred laptops will be given out across the country based only on merit.

In light of the current economic crisis, Shehbaz emphasised the importance of looking back to move forward.

He argued that now is the time for the country to make decisive strides in areas such as agriculture, IT, minerals, export, and others, all of which would have a significant impact on its future.

Shehbaz added that the government has developed a comprehensive plan to make agriculture a game-changing sector of the economy.

At the event, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the agenda set forward by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Engineer Amir Muqam, an advisor to the Prime Minister, spoke at the event and praised the PM for his tireless efforts to improve the country’s economic status.
