PSDP portal is launched by the ministry to “ensure transparency.”
The data on the 1.1 trillion rupee projects would be displayed on the portal.
To guarantee openness, the government has made the data of ongoing Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) initiatives (both current and from the prior year) accessible on the recently launched PSDP webpage.
The data for 1.1 trillion rupee projects would be shown on the web.
The PSDP Portal was introduced by Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal at a gathering hosted in the Planning Ministry. The Chairman of Pakistan’s Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission SUPARCO, Members of the Planning Commission, and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.
Setting sectoral and regional priorities under the national plan, the PSDP, which makes up the federal development budget, serves as a critical foundation for the government’s development goal.
“This strategic move aims to harness the potential of digital technologies to enhance transparency, improve governance, and promote public awareness of the government’s development course and priorities,” according to a statement released by the ministry.
“Citizens will be able to learn more about the national development programs through the internet platform. It makes it possible for people to comprehend the goals, limitations, and effects of any initiative, encouraging involvement from the general population.
Iqbal referred to this endeavor as a “landmark” in the history of the nation since it will guarantee openness in PSDP projects while directly involving the public through this portal.
“The initiative will help to eliminate the trust deficit between the state and citizen which remained weak in the past,” the minister stated.
Users can see how projects are distributed geographically thanks to the interactive map interface provided by the online portal. Users can view project profiles, search for projects by geography, and get a full grasp of the development activities in particular regions.
