ISLAMABAD: The Quetta registry of the Supreme Court has issued a written order summonsing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) head Imran Khan to appear in court in connection with the murder of a lawyer.
The PTI chairman is required to make an appearance on July 24 at 10:30am, per the written order.
The court judgement states that the petitioner’s absence was investigated during the hearing.
The applicant may answer the court summons, the attorney said. The request for an extension made by the Balochistani government to file its response was also granted.
The court that was considering the appeal from the previous judgement by the Balochistan High Court, however, had changed.
Justices Ijazul Ahsan and Ayesha Malik presided over the initial hearing of the case.
The case was reheard by a three-judge panel presided over by Justice Yahya Afridi and also including Justices Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Mussarat Hilali.
The third hearing, however, will take place on Monday before a three-judge panel presided over by Justice Afridi.
The bench likewise includes Justice Naqvi, but in place of Justice Hilali, we have Justice Mazahar.
