After hearing the reference on Wednesday, Judge Muhammad Bashir ordered the former president and 14 others to appear in court on the next day of hearing, as reported by Express News.

Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Ali Akbar Abro, Aijaz Memon, Abdul Ghani Majeed, Manahil Majeed, and Nadeem Bhutto were all named as suspects.

Before the NAO modifications were enacted in December 2020, the PPP co-chairman was indicted in the water supply reference. This stemmed from the investigation into the phony bank accounts.

The contract for the Thatta water supply scheme was allegedly awarded illegally to a private contractor by the special initiative department for water delivery.

After the changes were made in January, the National Accountability Bureau received a corruption reference from an accountability court.
