Sources: PIA flights in the UK are resuming.
KARACHI: PIA will resume UK flights following a two-year ban, sources told Geo News on Monday.
A five-member delegation of the Civil Aviation Authority left for Brussels on October 25 to meet EU and IASA officials, sources said.
According to sources, European officials called a technical conference with the CAA. The delegation will discuss licensing, access, and registration.
European Commission and IASA will visit Pakistan in 2023 to examine airline measures. Upon commission and IASA approval, operations will resume.
PIA must visit Pakistan to begin European flights.
Since July 2020, a European embargo has cost PIA Rs150 billion.
The UK CAA halted PIA flights because Pakistan “cannot certify and oversee its airline operators.”
