GURU NANAK’S 553RD ANNIVESARY ENDS

According to a minister, Kartarpur will soon have an automobile link to Nankana Sahib in honour of Guru Nanak’s 553rd anniversary.

The three-day celebrations honouring Baba Guru Nanak’s 553rd birthday at Gurudwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib came to an end on Tuesday. LAHORE

Speaking at the event, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal congratulated the Sikhs on the anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth and said that Baba Guru Nanak’s teachings reflected tolerance, respect for human dignity, equal rights, interfaith harmony, and assistance to the poor. Baba Guru Nanak advocated for and preached a society devoid of prejudice.

The minister pledged to offer the greatest services to Sikh pilgrims travelling from all over the world and said that Kartarpur and Nankana Sahib would be connected by an expressway.

He revealed that a road network would be built to connect Nankana Sahib in order to make it easier for Sikh pilgrims.

Ahsan Iqbal expressed his gratitude to the district government and police officials for implementing extensive and effective security measures to safeguard Sikh pilgrims and avert any unfavourable incidents.

At the ritual, thousands of Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan, India, Canada, and Europe took part. To preserve Sikh history, work is being done to build a library and a museum in Nankana Sahib, according to Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Habibur Rehman Gilani. He also noted that ETPB offered the best amenities to the community taking part in the festivities.

He claimed that the upkeep and renovation of the Sikh community’s Gurdwaras had received special attention.

The leaders of the Sikh delegation, Pardhan Sardar Ameer Singh and Sardar Gopal Singh expressed gratitude to the district administration and the Pakistani government for their hospitality to the Sikh yatrees.

Parmeet Singh, Diljeet Singh, Manjeet Singh, and Partab Singh were among the other Sikh leaders present during the occasion.
