LAHORE — The Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council and a Special Representative for the Prime Minister, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, on Sunday extended his congratulations to General Asim Munir on his appointment as the new Chief of the Pakistani Army. Ashrafi said that the appointment had raised the status of Pakistan in the world, particularly among Muslim nations.
During an appearance at a news conference held at Baitul Aman in this city, he stated that it was encouraging to hear that a Hafiz Quran had been appointed as the new chief of army in Pakistan.
He praised the work that had been done by General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The language that Azam Swati used in her criticism of the state’s institutions was criticised by Ashrafi.
He stated that all decisions should be made in parliament, and that everyone in the country should put in their best effort to move the nation in the direction of progress and prosperity.
