ISLAMABAD — On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, to take part in the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, which will be held in Geneva on January 9, 2023 and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the United Nations.
According to a news release issued by the PM Office Media Wing, the Prime Minister had a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan extended his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar for the substantial humanitarian aid that his country delivered in the aftermath of the climate-related floods that struck Pakistan earlier this year.
He noted that Pakistan was now confronted with the immense issue of reconstructing damaged areas in a manner that was resistant to the effects of climate change.
