One pilot was killed when two fighter jets belonging to the Indian air force fell on Saturday following an accident, the air force reported.

“The planes were engaged in a routine operational training mission. Three pilots were involved, and one of them suffered fatal injuries. To find out what caused the accident, a probe has been ordered “In a statement, the air force stated.

According to the report, the incident took place close to the Madhya Pradesh state town of Gwalior.

Prior to now, according to officials, one of the aircraft had crashed in the neighbouring state of Rajasthan and the other in Madhya Pradesh.

Although the media stated that a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000 were involved, the air force did not clarify the type of aircraft.

The defence ministry reported that five Indian army troops died when their chopper crashed last year close to the nation’s contentious border with China.

The Advance Light Helicopter touched down south of Tuting, a small village close to the Line of Actual Control, which separates China’s territory from northeastern India’s Arunachal Pradesh state.

According to a statement from the ministry, air traffic controllers had received a mayday contact prior to the crash that would have indicated a technical or mechanical issue.

According to the statement, rescuers had found four fatalities and were attempting to find the fifth and last person inside the chopper.

The Indian Army extended its “heartfelt condolences” and said it “stands firmly with the deceased families.”
