On Sunday, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who is acting as prime minister, said that those who attacked military sites should not get away with it. The prime minister talked about the events in the country on May 9 in an interview with a private news station. He said that if people attack an institution that was keeping the country from falling into chaos, they should be tried in court according to the law.
He said it was fair that anyone who attacked a military base should be tried in military courts, which was the government’s case against the Supreme Court’s decision to throw out military trials of citizens. The prime minister said that Imran Khan, who was prime minister before, was not jailed by the acting government.
He strongly disagreed with the idea of poisoning the PTI chairman in jail, saying that such unfounded claims showed how careless the PTI leaders and followers were. He said that the government was legally required to make sure that the PTI leaders in jail had all the tools they needed. “Imran Khan is quite safe and in good health,” he said.
The prime minister also debunked the idea that some parties were getting special treatment and others were being ignored. He said that all political parties, including the PTI and the PPP, were campaigning across the country for the election. To dispel the idea that the guardians were favoring a certain political party, he said that political parties usually tried to get people to vote for them in different ways, and that these accusations could be one of those ways.
The prime minister said that polls would be held in a clear way. However, if anyone had doubts about the election’s clearness, they could go to the right places, like the courts. He said that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was running its business from Afghanistan.
He said that the life of every single Pakistani citizen was important to him and that the government had a constitutional duty to protect its people.
This person said that the TTP had done a lot of bad things from across the border. People asked the prime minister why Pakistan wasn’t starting talks with the TTP. The prime minister said that the TTP would have to drop their weapons first if they really wanted to talk to Pakistan.
He said that all Afghans, no matter what religion or group they belonged to, were important to Pakistan because their cultural and religious ties with Pakistan went back hundreds of years. He did say, though, that the government would not stand for people who did terrorist acts in the country.
When asked about sending Afghan refugees back to their home country, PM Kakar said it was a tough choice. However, he made it clear that only Afghans who were registered illegally were being asked to leave the country. Yet, he made it clear that the government had told the Afghans living in Pakistan without proper papers to go back to their home country and then come back with proper papers so they could live legally and properly in Pakistan.
When it comes to the Palestine issue, the prime minister said that at the recent special meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia, all the Muslim leaders agreed that the international community should make sure there is a ceasefire and an open corridor for people to move between Gaza and the West Bank.
When asked about the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Prime Minister Kakar said that a lot of work had been done in the three months that they had been in charge. He said that China was moving on to the second step of its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which Pakistan was a big part of.
He said that China wanted there to be more planning and cooperation in this area and that they wanted Pakistan to make the most of this chance. Concerning the safety of Chinese people living in Pakistan, the prime minister said that the government was determined to stop all forms of violence in the country. The prime minister said, “Our security forces are fully equipped to deal with violence.”
