Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, signed in 1974
Every year, thousands of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India come to Pakistan to take part in different religious holidays and events thanks to the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974.
The press statement said that giving out pilgrimage visas is part of the government of Pakistan’s plan to make it easier for people to visit religious sites and encourage peace between different faiths.
Early on December 1, Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, including India, finished their visit to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal by taking part in sacred ceremonies.
During their three-day stay, Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday parties were marked by a lot of complicated religious ceremonies. As the celebrations came to an end, visitors said goodbye to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Hasan Abdal.
Under the direct supervision of Attock DPO, strict security steps were put in place. There were traditional ceremonies before they left, and the pilgrims thanked the local government for making all the preparations so well.
The head of the Bhai Mardana Parbandhak Committee in Delhi, Sardar Balvinder Singh, praised the work of the Pakistani government to keep gurdwaras in good shape and fix them up.
