ADEN: The Houthi movement in Yemen said on Saturday that they would attack all ships going to Israel, no matter what country they were from, and they warned all foreign shipping companies not to do business with Israeli ports.

There is already a cruel war going on between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, and this group that is close to Iran is making the chances of a regional conflict worse.

In the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait, which is used to ship a lot of oil around the world, the Houthis have attacked and taken control of several ships with ties to Israel. They have also fired ballistic missiles and armed drones at Israel.

The Houthis say that what they are doing is to show support for the Palestinians.

Israel said that strikes on ships were a “Iranian act of terrorism” that put international maritime safety at risk.

A military spokesman for the Houthis said that no ships can go to Israeli ports through the Red Sea or the Arabian Sea.

“If Gaza does not receive the food and medicine it needs, all ships in the Red Sea bound for Israeli ports, regardless of their nationality, will become a target for our armed forces,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

The threat works right away, the release said.

When Hamas fighters struck Israel on October 7, the Houthis were one of several groups in the “Axis of Resistance” that were working with Iran to hurt Israel and the US.

In one of the most recent events, three business ships were attacked in international waters last week. A US Navy destroyer was sent to help.

A British-owned cargo ship with ties to an Israeli business was taken over by the Houthis last month. The Houthis rule most of Yemen and the coast of the Red Sea.

The US and UK both condemned the strikes on ships and said that Iran was to blame because it helped the Houthis. Tehran says that its partners decide for themselves what to do.

The United States has been asked by Saudi Arabia to be calm in response to the strikes.
