Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held the first-ever virtual public meeting on social media platforms on Sunday night, despite the internet blockage across key cities in the country. This event marked another milestone in the political history of the nation. In response to what many have called a “internet crackdown” on the power show, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan spoke to around one million users at once from all over the globe, including those in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
The party’s 150-page platform, which the PTI president released, calls for sweeping changes to the country’s judicial system, executive branch, police force, and regulations pertaining to Pakistanis living abroad. With the announcement of the election schedule, the party will soon unveil its platform. But as excitement for the online demonstration grew, the internet monitoring firm Netblocks said that X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube were all severely down in Pakistan.
Problems with accessing these platforms were reported in major cities such as Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad due to the nationwide interruption that occurred soon before the 9 pm event. Internet users also noticed a significant slowdown in service around this time. While speaking to the crowd, Barrister Gohar Khan brought attention to the fact that Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI and a former prime minister, had been the target of more than 180 baseless accusations.
Following the advice of the founding chairman, the party had to appoint me as chairman as a temporary solution to preserve the party’s election character. It is my pleasure to represent Imran Khan.Given the caretaker government’s recent acts against the PTI, the country’s largest political party does not have faith in it, therefore he renewed his request to the Supreme Court to appoint RO and DRO from the judiciary.
In addition to bringing attention to the discriminatory treatment of Imran Khan and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif by the courts, he brought attention to the country’s legal system’s double standards.Imran Khan also made an appeal to Pakistanis living abroad to give to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in preparation for the next general elections in a video message that the PTI social media team aired.Imran Khan appealed to his followers, telling them he required their financial backing to secure victory in the upcoming election.
“I need your support again, just like you did before,” he stated.People from all around the globe should generously donate to their favorite party, the PTI, according to PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub, who announced that a contribution website (PakistanBadlo.Overseas.com) had gone live.
To remember the martyrs of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Pakistan Army, the Rangers, the Police, the women in prison, and everyone else who fought for justice throughout history, he paid tribute at the first virtual public assembly. He emphasized that a favorable vote for PTI on February 8 will lead to a better future for Pakistan and urged the people of the country to do their part on that day.
He asserted that the fate of Pakistan may be changed by the Pakistani people by voting for Imran Khan and re-electing him as prime minister. He stressed that the Pakistani people will use their voting power to equalize the playing field on February 8, which is now tilted in favor of the PTI.
He also spoke highly of the women of the PTI who were battling for Pakistan’s promising future while incarcerated, including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Aliya Hamza, Tayyaba Raja, and others. Fighting for seats and ministries was not the only thing they were up against.
Several additional party senior figures spoke at the public meeting, including Senator Azam Khan Swati, Ali Amin Gandapur, Qasim Khan Suri, Rauf Hasan, Zartaj Gul Wazir, Ali Muhammad Khan, and Hammad Azhar. The virtual public assembly lasted four and a half hours, finishing at 1:30 am, even though it was originally scheduled to end in three hours.
