In a statement released in Lahore on Wednesday, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the party’s role in rescuing Pakistan from bankruptcy and establishing economic stability.

“If asked in the court of Allah, I would say that Pakistan was saved from bankruptcy.”

Shehbaz expressed no remorse over the outcome, arguing that the state’s existence was more important than politics or staying in power.

According to the PML-N president, “Working day and night for 16 months, we saved Pakistan from bankruptcy.” This highlights the PML-N’s tireless efforts.

Shahbaz blamed the obstruction caused by the late CJP Saqib Nisar for the difficulties faced, citing the “storm of inflation” and the failed IMF deal.

When asked about the bigger picture, he said that diplomatic ties had taken a hit and that divides had been created. It would take time, he said, for these divisions to mend. “These divisions will not be overcome in a year or two; we will unite the nation by ending hatred.”

Similar to 2017, he also announced the beginning of a voyage on February 8.

Shehbaz insisted that the PML-N had nothing to do with PTI ditching the “bat” as its election symbol. Neither he nor Nawaz, according to Shehbaz, stole the party’s electoral symbol.

There were no inter-party elections, and the whole nation is watching the Supreme Court hearings. The court was the proper venue for their argument. ‘Lion’ was no longer PML-N’s electoral emblem; ‘bat’ would have been relevant today if it had been.

According to what Shehbaz mentioned earlier today, things would be very different for the people of Pakistan and the country’s progress and prosperity if the PTI had played an innings with the bat.

A recent interview he gave to a private news program focused on the chances that the PTI government may have changed the course of the country’s development and prosperity.

He made the observation that notices had been given by the Election Commission to the PTI in 2021, when it was in power, rather than the PML-N. Consequently, the notice’s effects are entirely lawful, and the PTI is entirely responsible for this.

“Imran is behind bars as a result of serious cases like the May 9 treason and £190 million, which was deposited elsewhere instead of the national treasury,” Shehbaz said, describing the serious cases that led to Imran Khan’s detention. More than anything else, this is a legal issue.

Shehbaz brought attention to the economic problems by criticizing the actions of the PTI administration, pointing to an economy in ruins with inflation at record highs.

Another effect of the PTI government, he said, was the deterioration of diplomatic relations and the rupture of treaties with the International Monetary Fund.

According to Shehbaz, the PML-N is peaking at the perfect time, as seen by recent surveys showing considerable gains. As a result, he is optimistic about the party’s performance in the upcoming elections. Nawaz Sharif is predicted to be the next prime minister, according to every poll.
