At the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) headquarters on Thursday, the Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Hattori Masaru, and the Deputy Consul General, Nakagawa Yashushi, met with Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
During the meeting, topics that were of importance to both parties were discussed. According to the mayor, Pakistan and Japan have strong links and work together in a variety of fields through their partnership. It is quite laudable that Japan is providing support to Pakistan in relation to the industrial sector, especially development initiatives.
“We want to take advantage of Japan’s technological expertise in improving and modernizing the city’s infrastructure, and for this purpose, we will extend full support to Japanese companies coming to invest in Karachi,” he added. “We want to maximize the potential of Japan’s technological expertise.”
The city provides international investors with chances that are in their best interest, and the administration is doing everything in its power to further encourage investment to take place. We would like to request the assistance of the Japanese government in the development and improvement of Karachi through the implementation of various initiatives.
The information that Wahab provided to the CG regarding the ongoing construction projects in the city was shared with them. From the perspective of the consul general, Karachi is a significant metropolis in Pakistan, and the development of the city as the economic core of the country is a step in the right direction.
