A total of five people were injured and at least one person was killed in separate attacks that took place in Balochistan on Thursday. This comes as the province is experiencing an increase in the number of violent incidents in the run-up to elections that are due to take place on February 8.
An explosion that occurred on Thursday in the Sabzal Road neighborhood of Quetta resulted in the death of one individual and led to the injury of another. Initial reports indicate that the explosion was triggered by a bomb that was placed along the side of the road, and that the explosion resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
Rescue operations were launched once emergency services arrived at the scene of the tragedy and began their work. As part of their inquiry into what caused the explosion, law enforcement officials also sealed off the area and began their probe.
There were two different incidences of violence in the province, and both of them were hand-grenade attacks in the cities of Jaffarabad and Turbat. Both of these attacks resulted in four persons being injured.
An individual sustained injuries as a result of the initial grenade attack, which took place in the Ghulam Nabi Chowk neighborhood of Turbat.
The national highway in the Dera Allah Yar neighborhood of the Jafarabad district was the target of the second grenade attack, which ultimately resulted in three individuals being hurt.
As soon as the injured were discovered, they were brought to the hospital to receive medical attention. Immediately, security personnel blocked off the locations in question.
In addition to expressing its profound worry regarding the terrorist assaults, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) requested an immediate report from the chief secretary and inspector general (IG) of Balochistan.
A mere week before the general elections that are due to take place on February 8, the nation is facing an unexpected increase in the level of violence.

Miscreants also threw a hand grenade at the residence of Mir Zahoor Buledi, who is the candidate for a provincial assembly seat in district Kech within the People’s Progressive Party (PPP).
