RAWALPINDI: According to his sister Aleema Khan, PTI founder Imran Khan has declared that the “mother of all rigging” needs to stop right away because Pakistan has turned into a laughingstock around the world.
By “mother of all rigging,” what does he mean specifically? The PTI was being dismantled, its famous electoral symbol—the bat—was being taken, nomination papers for party candidates were being refused, candidates were being forced to withdraw from contests, and the party was being denied the ability to canvass.
Speaking to the media outside of Adiala Jail, where Imran is being held, Aleema Khan stated that her brother wants the culture of impunity to cease and that in order to restore the nation’s standing abroad, the people’s will must be honored.
Additionally, Imran made fun of his fiercest rival, the PML-N, for voluntarily sacrificing its story in order to seize power. Aleema cited Imran as saying, “The’selected ones’ have honored the boot instead of the vote.”
She went on to say, citing her brother, “The selection was so blatant and blind that corruption cases were dropped by the selectors against the’selected ones’.”
“Instead, following protracted trials on false allegations, the PTI chairman was given a 32-year prison sentence.”
Imran claimed that the Pakistani people were deprived of their democratic right to select their representatives through pre-election, election day, and post-election manipulation.
People were confused when the internet went down on election day. However, post-election tampering was done at night by blatantly altering the results by disregarding Form 45 after it failed, he continued.
The Rawalpindi commissioner, who recently made a shocking video confession of his involvement in election manipulation on behalf of the PML-N, was also mentioned by the imprisoned PTI chairman.
Fearing that the commissioner would be physically tortured, he remarked, “Not just one commissioner, there are many more who have ample evidence of rigging, but they have been silenced.”
