ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Terrorist Party, stated on Tuesday that his wife, the former first lady, had been poisoned while she was being held in the Bani Gala sub-jail. He also requested that a doctor of his choosing examine her.

The former premier told Judge Nasir Javed Rana at the £190 million corruption reference trial in Adiala jail that the former first lady had been the target of an attempted poisoning and that the “poisoning” had left lesions on her mouth and skin.

“I know who’s behind it,” declared the founder of PTI.

He continued by saying that the army chief should be held accountable if Bushra suffered any injury because intelligence agency agents were in charge of everything at Bani Gala and Adiala jail.

Imran added that he and the party did not trust the physician who had previously checked Bushra and sought the court to mandate that Dr. Asim of Shaukat Khanum Hospital evaluate Bushra.

In addition, he called for an investigation into Bushra’s purported poisoning.

The court ordered Imran to submit a thorough application regarding the former first lady’s medical examination at the request of the former premier.

During the hearing, Bushra spoke with the media and stated that there were rumors going around the party about her being a “American agent.”

She went on to say that “three drops” of a well-known toilet cleaner that were added to her diet poisoned her and that consuming the cleaner for even one month causes health problems.

“My eyes become puffy, I have pain and discomfort in my stomach and chest, and food and water taste bad. The former first lady said, “Earlier, a suspicious substance was mixed with honey, and now it’s mixed with toilet cleaner in my food.”

“I was told by someone in jail about what was added to my food, I will not reveal any names.”

She told the court that although she had been housed in a respectable manner at the Bani Gala sub-jail, she had been prohibited from opening the windows for a while.

Prior to this, PTI said that Bushra had been given “poisonous food” while detained and claimed to be in excruciating discomfort.

A PTI official voiced worries in a statement over what they called “serious threats” to Bushra Bibi’s life while he was being held captive.

“Bushra’s health and life are being seriously endangered by the denial of her constitutional right to medical examination,” the spokesperson for the PTI said.

The party official went on to say that Bushra Bibi’s family had been denied access to her, which they believed to be against jail rules and the Constitution. They claim that this limitation is a component of a “deliberate plan” to hurt her.
