GWADAR: The New Gwadar International Airport in Pakistan, which is being helped by China, began a five-day flight test on Tuesday. The project’s project management team said this meant the project was about to enter the final sprint stage.
The project manager, Ding Kan, told Xinhua that Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is in charge of the flying test work at the airport being built as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The airport is in the port city of Gwadar in the southwest.
He said that the main goal of the activity is to make sure that the project’s navigation facilities, navigational aids, flight procedures, and road surface performance are all standardized and safe. He also said that the test is an important milestone in the construction of the project and is very important for the safety and quality of flights at the new airport.
The work on the project will move into its final sprint stage after the flight test. The Chinese boss said that the airport should be finished and given to the local government in 2024.
One of the most important projects of the CPEC is the building of this 4F-class airport, which began in October 2019.
When it is finished, it will be a modern icon in Gwadar. This will make Gwadar’s infrastructure much better and set the stage for the future growth of both the port and the city.
