KARACHI: Senior Pakistani actor Rashid Mehmood was very angry when he got his Rs45,000 power bill and said he feels like he was born in the wrong country.
On social media, a video of Rashid Mehmood showing off his home’s power bill went viral. It was discovered that he was given a huge bill after using 701 units.
Mehmood, who had four heart attacks but lived, asked Allah why he didn’t kill him and said, “Was I kept alive just to endure this?” He was upset that he hadn’t been able to find work as an actor in Lahore for a while, which was making it hard for him to pay such a big bill.
He let out his anger by calling politicians and government officials thieves who live in luxury while regular people have to deal with high prices and outrageous energy bills.
The actor felt bad that he could have become rich by being dishonest, but his conscience always told him to do the right thing because he knew that Allah would judge him after he died.
Mehmood was very sad about what was happening in Pakistan and said he felt like he was born in the wrong country even though he had spent his whole life serving it. He was upset that the bills he got for his work were so high.
The actor, who was sad and upset, talked about his pain and fear by saying he doesn’t want to live anymore and hopes his family can have a better life after he’s gone.
He said he was committed to Pakistan even though things were hard for him and asked Allah to have mercy on him as he thought about how much easier life would have been abroad.
