LAHORE: Omar Ayub, a lawmaker for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), has asked for the “restoration” of his party’s mandate, saying that many people around the world were unhappy with the recent polls.

Ayub, who recently quit as secretary general of the PTI, spoke to the media and said that the federal government’s new fiscal budget was a “lethal attack” on the people and would cause prices to rise.

Ayub said that the interim government, which was run by Mohsin Naqvi, was making money off of 450 billion rupees worth of wheat imports, saying that farmers were forced to sell their crops for very little money.

He worried that more exports would lead to more people making money.

“The US government put forward a resolution on the election report.” “Everyone is against the elections, and the PTI should be given its mandate back,” Ayub said.

The US House of Representatives passed a resolution on June 26 supporting democracy and human rights in Pakistan. The resolution called for an independent probe into claims of problems in the country’s general elections on February 8.

The head of the PTI also said that he was quitting as PTI Secretary General because he didn’t think he could do his job well.

He also said that they are appealing how a similar case was technically thrown out in the high court.

Ayub’s resignation from his party posts was turned down by the PTI Parliamentary Committee, which passed a resolution telling him to stay in his job.

The group told Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, not to accept Ayub’s retirement.
