KARACHI: The police’s investigation into the armed conflict between two competing Bugti tribe groups, which resulted in five fatalities and two critical injuries, is still ongoing. The crime remains unsolved despite the recorded statements of Qaim Ali and Mir Ali Haider Bugti, the injured parties.
Fahad Bugti, Naseebullah, Mir Mahsam Bugti, Mir Isa Bugti, and Ali were killed in the gunfight that took place inside the boundaries of the Darakhshan police station. Qaim Ali and Mir Ali Haider Bugti were also injured.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, the case has been filed based on a complaint from the government. In the last two days, the police have carried out raids and detained 17 people, from whom they are obtaining information regarding the armed conflict. Weapons from the fight were also found by the police.
Raza went on to say that the two injured people’s comments were recorded by the police. When the shooting event happened, Bugti told the police in his first statement that he was headed to meet a close friend. The police are not happy with his statement, even if he has no further information about the occurrence. The statements made by those who were detained, however, were also recorded by the police. These confessions disclosed that the violent conflict was connected to a property dispute, and there was continuous hostility between the Bugti tribes over certain flats in Karachi.
