Despite the prospect of India pulling out of the competition, Richard Gould, the chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has stated that he is firmly in favor of Pakistan hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 the following year.

Gould recently talked on the thrilling possibility of England hosting a Test match between India and Pakistan in an interview with BBC Test Match Special.

Day one of the third Test between England and the West Indies saw Gould speak on a number of subjects, one of which being if England could help arrange a historic Test match between India and Pakistan.

Prominent English locations such as Lord’s, The Oval, and Edgbaston have expressed interest in hosting this concept for a few years now.

“That would be adored by all. It’s not difficult, in my opinion, to host the India vs. Pakistan Test. As with politics between governments, the dynamics between the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board are well known. And it intrigues me,” Gould remarked.

“We were in Sri Lanka over the weekend for ICC meetings, and you see Pakistan cricket supporters and India cricket supporters getting on so well, but as soon as the political element is put in, it creates issues,” he said.

Gould also reaffirmed the ECB’s commitment to the Champions Trophy in Pakistan the following year, even in the face of political unrest that may affect India’s participation.

“There’s a great deal of determination to make sure it [Champions Trophy] is [hosted in Pakistan next year],” Gould stated. “Particularly from the PCB and the ECB.”

In the final, Pakistan defeated India to win the Champions Trophy, which was last played in England in 2017.

BD takes charge as Pakistan Shaheens stumble with the bat.

Just 179 runs were scored in the first innings of Pakistan Shaheens’ four-day encounter against Bangladesh A in Darwin on Saturday due to their struggles at the bat.

With a strong 48 runs, Kamran Ghulam led the way for Shaheens. Umar Amin contributed twenty-five runs, and Tayyab Tahir contributed thirty.

The squad did, however, suffer difficulties as a number of important players failed to make significant contributions.

Omair Bin Yousuf and captain Sahibzada Farhan managed just 4 and 7 runs, respectively, while Haseebullah scored 18 runs.

Bangladesh’s bowlers took advantage of this and destroyed Pakistan Shaheens’ batting order with four wickets from Ripon Mondal and three from Rejaur Rahman Raja.

Bangladesh A’s first innings saw them bowled out for 258 runs. With three crucial wickets, Khurram Shehzad was Pakistan Shaheens’ standout bowler. Faisal Akram, Kashif Ali, and Kamran Ghulam each took two wickets throughout their periods.

Bangladesh A had a difficult start to their second innings when they lost opener Parvez Hossain Emoin for just 7 runs in the third over, which was dismissed by Khurram Shahzad.

Mahmudul Hasan and Amite Hasan Joy then made an attempt to steadie the innings, but their attempts were thwarted when Faisal Akram bowled Amite Hasan for 25 runs off 61 deliveries.

As they lost Hasan Murad for a duck and Khurram Shahzad claimed his second wicket of the innings, the pressure increased.

With Mahmudul Hasan Joy (39) and Aich Mollah (8) at the crease, the Bengal Tigers led by 163 runs at the close of the second day, having lost three wickets.
