After being apart for the past four years, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Suleman Shehbaz were finally able to see each other again late Saturday night.

In order to show his appreciation for his son’s long-awaited return, the Prime Minister greeted him with a warm embrace and surrounded him with a floral wreath.

After spending the previous four years in a self-imposed exile, Suleman returned to Pakistan after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted protective bail to the premier’s son till December 13. Suleman had been absent from Pakistan since 2014.

In October of 2018, he travelled outside of the country, and shortly thereafter, a complaint alleging that he laundered money was lodged against him. After then, Suleman remained in self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom where he had been living.

Read IHC orders that Suleman Shehbaz not be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan.

On December 8, he went through his attorney to approach the IHC with a plea to stop his exile and return to the country so that he could submit himself in front of the court.

Because the court granted his plea, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and any other authorities that were planning to arrest him have been barred from doing so until December 13.

After some time had passed, Suleman, who had travelled to Saudi Arabia to conduct Umrah, booked a reservation for aircraft number 726 on Saudi Airlines for December 11.

According to Saudi time, the flight took off from King Abdulaziz International Airport at 18:20 and arrived at New Islamabad International Airport at 1:20 in the morning Pakistan time.

Suleman is said to have flown in business class and arrived with two pieces of luggage, according to the sources.
