Sardar Latif Khosa, a well-known politician and top lawyer, said on Sunday that he was leaving the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The former governor of Punjab told the reporters at his home in Lahore that he was joining the party “on the wish” of Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI.
He said, “I made this choice only for the sake of the country and democracy.” He also said that he would keep speaking out for the truth.
There was also a news conference in Lahore where Khosa confirmed his choice. The top lawyer talked about the Constitution and said it was a civil agreement that had features of a welfare state. He also said that the country has suffered whenever the Constitution has been broken.
I have given my services to PTI and am free to join any party I want, Khosa said as he called for the “oppression” of PTI’s founder to stop.
Khosa is one of Imran’s lawyers and works with him to handle issues that get a lot of attention.
