Social media users noticed that Amber Heard is no longer on Twitter after her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk assumed control of the platform, whether by choice or a purported removal.
On Thursday, a number of media sources reported the deactivation of Heard’s @realamberheard Twitter account. We don’t know exactly when the account vanished, but all we know is that a screen on the page now reads: “This account is invalid, according to People.
With 5.3 million followers on Instagram, the 36-year-old actor still maintains an active presence. Her most recent post there is from a statement she made on June 1 following the conclusion of her defamation case with her ex-husband Johnny Depp in Virginia. According to the journal, a Heard representative did not respond to a request for comment on the subject.
Musk, who dated Heard once before following her breakup with Depp, recently acquired Twitter and took the helm as its CEO. The billionaire assured advertisers in a letter published in the public forum that he didn’t want the platform to “become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be uttered with no consequences!”
The billionaire “didn’t start seeing Heard until May 2016, and even then it was sporadic,” a Musk representative previously said. It took some time before their connection turned passionate.” The couple parted ways in August 2017.
Heard spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in December 2018, more than a year after the split and about her affair with Musk. “Elon and I had a lovely relationship that was founded on our core principles, and we now have a lovely friendship.
