At the investiture ceremony held at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, eminent scientists and engineers from strategic organizations received civil awards from Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for their meritorious services, the military said in a statement.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reports that 35 people in all received the honors.
It further stated that 13 officers received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, 15 officers received the President’s Award for Pride of Performance, and seven officers received Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Gen. Mirza praised the contributions made by the scientists and engineers, referring to them as the unsung heroes of the country.
The CJCSC remarked, “You, all, have selflessly contributed towards strengthening the foundations of a resilient nation; and for that, we are forever indebted to you,” as it addressed the prize recipients.
