The term “regularisation” will be applied to contract workers and hourly wage earners.
The government will give each agency 15 days to execute the new policy.
ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Special Committee of the National Assembly for Affected Employees issued an order to all ministries, divisions, corporations, and autonomous organisations requiring them to regularise the services of contractual, daily-wage, and contingent workers within 15 days.
The committee, which met with Qadir Khan Mandokhel as its chair, said in its instruction that any employees who began working at any government agency in Pakistan by November 30, 2022, on a contract, daily wage, or continent basis, were eligible to be regularised.
The departments were given instructions to independently review the cases of contract workers and provide a compliance report to the committee within 15 days.
The committee also prohibited new hires until the services of all contract, daily-wage, and contingent workers were regularised, and during this time, any employee transfer or posting, particularly one at a lower grade, would be viewed as harassment.
It also instructed all the ministries to address disputes about the seniority of fired personnel who had been reinstated and the fixation of their pay in accordance with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
