After arriving in Karachi for a two-day visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a private discussion at the Chief Minister’s House with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The discussion covered a range of federal and Sindh-related topics, including political, social, and economic ones, according to a spokesman for the Chief Minister’s House. Current development projects, including problems with gas and power, were discussed.
Prime Minister Sharif asked about the status of flood relief operations and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to delivering public relief during the meeting.
In addition to thanking the Prime Minister for coming to Karachi, Chief Minister Shah gave him an update on the ongoing restoration of homes damaged by flooding.
Chief Minister Shah welcomed Prime Minister Sharif at the Chief Minister’s House prior to the meeting.
A number of Federal Ministers, including Mohammad Aurangzeb, Aleem Khan, Khalid Maqbool, Ata Tarar, and Rana Tanveer, as well as Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Principal Secretary Agha Waseem, and Inspector General of Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon were present.
Apart from the conference, Prime Minister Sharif gave a speech at the Second International Food and Agriculture Exhibition, stressing the significant prospects for raising agricultural exports.
He said that $7 billion should be the goal for agricultural exports in the next year.
The Prime Minister backed the plan to send 1,000 graduates to China each year for agricultural training, highlighting the importance of cutting-edge research and technology in boosting exports.
In addition, Sharif commended Arshad Nadeem for winning an Olympic gold medal and highlighted the momentous occasion for the country.
The prime minister highlighted recent initiatives and potential for cooperation with China and Gulf nations to reaffirm the government’s commitment to developing the agricultural sector and raising exports.
