Everyone’s in search for luscious, healthy, thick locks. And while there are tons of products out there – from DIY masks, to onion water (we tried it and it wasn’t close to satisfactory…. but that’s a story for another day), there are certain hair products we always go back to. Why? They work! Here are 5 things that we recommend for healthier, happy hair this season:
Trim Your Hair Often: Look, we are guilty of not being great at this – we finally got to the hair length we wanted! This however, helps sustain the health of your hair, avoiding split ends which can get worse and have the need to chop off more inches than you’re comfortable with! It’s just a matter of every 6 weeks to 2 months. Do it!
Castor Oil: Tried, tested, delivered! Castor oil has been our go to for years – and that is precisely why we highly recommend it. From Japanese bonding (when it was new) to hair colour to an overall lack of healthy diet, our hair suffered the most – and we found our saviour in this wonderful oil. Remember to shampoo well – it’s not as scary to remove as most people say.
Sulphate Free Shampoo: Less harm to your hair, the colour and stripping of natural goodness is what we all need. Our go to is the Drunk Elephant Cocomino Glossing Shampoo – it leaves the hair super soft, shiny and glossy without that greasy feel or look!
Good Diet: You have to eat well to get the proper nutrients in your system. Whether its a handful of almonds, to fruits to meats and vegetables – you need to eat well to live well. Make sure if you are dieting, it isn’t stripping you off natural vitamins we get from food intake. Your health ensures the quality of skin and hair and nothing is more important than that!
Sleep On Time: For some, this is a no brainer, but for others, midnight owls to be more specific, this is harder. Guess what – sleeping by 10.30 esures your body gets the rest and time to work on vital parts of our skin and hair during this time. There is a reason why people look fresher when they sleep earlier and not just more hours. Get those Z’s at the right time and you’ll see the difference!
