LAHORE:
Hammad Azhar, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, criticised the federal government’s economic policies on Monday, claiming that the economy is failing and that the dollar is not even available at the current rate.

He stated that the LCs for the spare components had not been opened while speaking to a press conference in Lahore.

He continued by saying that Ishaq Dar is currently in the same predicament as Miftah Ismail, when the market had lost faith in him.

He added that Beijing and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are the government’s only hope for survival.

He said, “This administration is not governing this economy; the identity of the energy minister has never been made public.”

According to the former federal minister, the only option to move forward is to transfer all power to a caretaker administration before installing a new administration.

He also advocated cutting wasteful spending.

He mocked the administration and claimed that a journalist who said something similar would be assassinated outside.

He insisted that “the people and their viewpoint should be recognised first.”

“In our time, people used to conduct shows against it if something was absent,” he remarked. “Anchors who had declared themselves to be specialists in the field of economics have not kept their lips quiet.”

He added, “They are not coming to the forefront because they are terrified of Imran Khan.

According to Azhar, the government increased the price of oil first, after which they claimed that Qatar was the source of the funding for both the flood relief effort and the money. Let others come if you are doing nothing, he said.

Imran Khan’s anxiety, according to the former minister, “paralysed the entire economy and social order.”

He claimed that the economy could no longer function since the private sector lacked the funds to purchase basic materials.

Even his ministers, according to him, don’t give a damn about Dar Sahib.

He added that the PTI will only talk to the government about holding elections right now.
