It irritates many people that the PTI is simultaneously appealing in two high courts. IHC Chief Justice CJ Farooq questions how an experienced attorney such as Barrister Zafar could accomplish this.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECPdecision )’s to remove Imran Khan as the chairman of the PTI in the Toshakhana matter has been challenged simultaneously in two high courts, which has angered the Islamabad High Court.

The petition challenging Imran’s disqualification in the Toshakhana case was heard by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.

Barrister Gohar asked for the hearing to be delayed since Barrister Ali Zafar was preoccupied in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

A comparable petition, according to the National Assembly members’ attorney, is currently before the LHC. He continued, “The IHC was not informed that another petition was pending there.

The Election Commission’s Dec. 7 notice for the party leader’s removal, according to Barrister Gohar, had been contested.

According to the chief justice, it was improper to appeal the same ruling twice, and this application should be withdrawn if it had been.

Ali Zafar is such a senior counsel, thus it is natural if a young counsel does this, he observed.

Only Barrister Zafar, according to Barrister Gohar, would respond to this question.

The CJ stated that the hunt for a forum or bench had begun and that it had been covered in the case of Azam Swati.

He said, “The non-disclosure of the ongoing LHC case before this court proves your conduct.”

The parliamentarians’ attorney said that their application was turned down due to this behaviour in accordance with the Supreme Court’s (SC) ruling.

The CJ claimed that this is how everything transpired.

“If they obtain a stay from that location (LHC), they will continue; if not, we will handle the case locally. What will we say to others if educated individuals act in this way? The high court’s chief justice made a comment.

The hearing was postponed until Jan. 25 by the court.
