IMRAN KHAN PTI GETS DEFAMATION NOTICE FROM OMNI GROUP

Imran has received a notice of defamation from Omni Group. Legal action will be taken against him in accordance with both civil and criminal laws.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was served with a Rs9 billion defamation notice on Tuesday by Abdul Ghani Majeed, the director of Omni Group. In one of Khan’s recent speeches, Khan accused Majeed of entering into a plea bargain with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

In the letter that Majeed demanded an unconditional apology within a period of 14 days and asked Imran to refrain from making “baseless and fabricated allegations against the Omni Group in the future, the notice was sent by Majeed’s attorney on his behalf.

In the event that the previous prime minister did not respond to the notice within the allotted time frame, he issued a stern warning that legal action would be taken against him in accordance with both civil and criminal statutes.
